An acronym is a word or name formed as a pronounceable abbreviation from the initial components in a phrase or a word, usually individual letters (as in NATO or laser) and sometimes syllables (as in Benelux). There is no universal standardization of the various names for such abbreviations and of their orthographic styling. In English and most other languages, such abbreviations historically had limited use, but they became much more common in the 20th century. Acronyms are a type of word formation process, and they are viewed as a subtype of blending.<div> <div jsname="WJz9Hc" style="display:none">的缩写是形成为从初始组分在短语拼读缩写或一个字,通常是单个字母(如在北约或激光),有时音节(如在比荷卢)的单词或名字。有这样的缩写和他们的正字法造型的各种名目的没有通用的标准化。在英语和大多数其他语言,如缩写历史有限制地使用,但他们在20世纪变得更加普遍。缩略语是一种类型的字形成过程,以及它们被视为混合的子类型。<div> <div class="show-more-end">
